Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Program
Public Notice

The Greater Roanoke Transit Company (GRTC) hereby announces its annual goals for procurement from Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) for FY 2011, FY2012 and FY 2013 will remain at 5 percent.  The rationale for this goal and supporting information are available for public inspection during normal business hours at GRTC’s Administration Facility located at 1108 Campbell Avenue S.E., Roanoke, Virginia 24013 for thirty days from publication of this notice.  GRTC and the Department of Transportation will accept comments on the goal for forty-five days.  Comments should be sent to the above address to the attention of the Director of Administration.

Bus stop change:

The following Smart Way bus stop change will take effect Monday, May 3, 2010:

The Blacksburg to Roanoke Smart Way will stop near Christiansburg K-Mart on Laurel across the street from the bus shelter.  The Blacksburg bound bus will make its usual stop at the bus shelter. Please be prepared to board when the buses arrive, as buses no longer enter the K-Mart parking lot.

Reminder: At K-Mart in Christiansburg, Roanoke destined customers need to cross the street and catch the bus across from the shelter. The bus does not enter the parking lot to pick up passengers.
